Renowned Nollywood actor has made history for himself as he
became the first Nollywood actor to be awarded a Doctorate Degree in a Nigerian
University.
Alex Usifo who temporarily left the Nigerian Movie industry
for a lecturing job in Babcock University Ilishan in Ogun state completed his
PhD in Philosophy on Sunday, He said
" A few years back, when we anxiously applied for
admission to the Postgraduate School, most of us, perhaps, did not envision
that it would be such an arduous venture. We know better now that in the
university, getting a PhD or Master’s degree is certainly a long haul. At a
point, the goal was beginning to look rather inane or unobtainable. In fact, if
we were to precisely reconstruct the exact obstacle course that we scaled
through, in terms of time, money, physical and mental strength expended, it
might take eternity.”
