Nigeria's General Election Date Has Been Postponed By INEC

After waiting patiently for hours by Nigerians for Prof. Attahiru Jega to conclude his meeting with various stakeholders, He announced that the forth coming general elections has been postponed to the following dates; March 28th for Presidential and National Assembly, while April 11th for Governorship and State Assembly.Reasons he gave was centred on the advice given by security National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki(retd.), and other service chiefs that their agencies would not be able to guarantee security of INEC personnel in some parts of the country.
Jega said the commission was empowered by Section 26 (1) of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) to shift national elections due to some factors and he prays that nothing else would come up again warranting the dates to be changed again.
