Its focus will be on “how lyrics, music videos, and actions of
these women express various aspects of black feminism such as sexuality,
violence,standards of beauty, economic opportunity and creative
self-expression.”
Aassociate professor Natasha
Tinsely,a lecturer in the Department of African and African Diaspora Studies
hopes that the course will reveal the role black feminism plays in popular
culture and their everyday life.
