James Ikechukwu Esomugha, popularly known as Jim Iyke, is a Nigerian actor in Nigeria's movie industry (popularly called Nollywood) and one of the stars of the movie Last Flight to Abuja alongside Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and Hakeem Kae-Kazim.
He was born on September 25, 1976 in Libreville, Gabon. His parents are Mr and Mrs Stephen Okolue, whose last name changed to Esomugha from Enugu Agidi village in Anambra State. He is the only boy in a family of eight children.
Jim Iyke studied at the University of Jos, Plateau State where he got a diploma in Banking and Finance and then a B.Sc. in Philosophy

The acclaimed actor, took to his instagram page to voice out that "I own my words but I owe people the interpretation. Men dt wear their intentions on their faces sometimes. As much as one might have a good intention for their actions, his action may seem parallel to his intention depending on hw peo perceive it" Jim who has been vilified, castigated and thrashed on the social media over his several actions, explained that it is human nature for one someone to say something and others would make any sort of meaning they want but he feels he is who he is, and says he owes no one any apology. gbagammm
